St. Francis Rehab adds Aquatherapy as a treatment modality
It was an exciting evening for The Greater St. Francisville Chamber of Commerce and the West Feliciana Parish Hospital on Tuesday, January 24th, to "Cut the Ribbon" to officially open the renovated Rehabilitation Department expansion and the addition of the Aquatic Therapy Program.
The rehabilitation clinic has outgrown its facilities since opening in 1998 and began renovations in April of 2010. The facility now expands to 5350 square feet with an expanded gym and the addition of rooms for speech and hand therapy.
The center provides services for Occupational Therapy, Land Based Physical Therapy, Hand Therapy and Speech Therapy.
The Aquatic Therapy pool provides therapy for patients that have pain and weakness and other physical disabilities that may not be able to use regular therapy.
One hundred people attended the "Ribbon Cutting" and toured the facilities amazed how 'up to date' it was. Heirloom Cuisine catered refreshments for the well attended event.
At the event, Dr. Brook Bock, M.D. was introduced to the community. Dr. Bock is the new Pediatrician for the hospital and her office is located at Daniel Clinic in St. Francisville. She shares her interest in the community as an ancestor of the Wilcox family in West Feliciana Parish.
Melvin Harvey, Jr. extended congratulations at the event on a project that will benefit West Feliciana Parish and the surrounding areas for years to come. With the continued support of businesses and individuals, the Center can continue to grow to meet the needs of its patients.
